New Health Option: Restaurant for Pescetarians Opens at The Farm

The Farm at San Benito is proud to announce the opening of their new restaurant this July. PESCE will be open for guests who want fish or other seafood for their dinner. Like the Alive! Restaurant, which is focused on tasty vegan cuisines, PESCE will also include fresh organically produced vegetables in its line of scrumptious dishes.

The new restaurant got its name, quite fittingly, from the Italian word “PESCE,” meaning fish. Apart from using farm to table living foods, organic like fruits and vegetables, fish is added as a source of protein for a complete and balanced meal.

Fish for Health

As they say, all roads lead to Rome. Not in terms of good health though, but there’s more than one way to peel an orange. While it is possible to get all the nutrients you need in a vegan diet, choosing the pescetarian path is a good option for those who may feel dissuaded by an entirely plant-based diet, or for those who may have some difficulties getting the sufficient amount of protein that they need. PESCE’s menu don’t just include fish but also focuses on the longevity of life. Some studies have found that in places where people generally live the healthiest and the longest, the diet consists mainly of plants with a small amount of fish.

Guests can rest assured that nothing fishy is going on here – apart from the star of the dish, that is. In line with The Farm’s commitment to using only the best ingredients, all the free-range fish and other seafood are freshly caught that same day.

PESCE and the Menu

Each course will feature a type of seafood as the main part of the dish. Below are just some of the mouth-watering items from the menu guests can look forward to. A few among the rest are:

  • Caesar salad with grilled grouper fillet

Organic Romaine lettuce tossed in vegan Caesar dressing, garnished with golden brown unbleached flour croutons, sprinkled with vegan parmesan cheese, and served with grilled fillet of grouper (known locally as lapu-lapu).

  • Brick-Oven-Baked Salmon Roulade

Brick-oven-baked salmon, filled with macadamia bell pepper cheese, deglazed with aromatic hoisin sauce, served with pineapple black rice and fresh salad rolls in almond butter sauce.

  • Spaghetti Nero di Seppia

Spaghetti with squid and squid ink on cream and white wine, garlic garnished with chop parsley.

  • Lobster Bisque

A smooth, creamy lobster coulis topped with lobster meat and organic fresh tarragon served with home-made focaccia bread.

Guests also have the option to enjoy the delicious food inside the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant or to be closer to nature through al fresco dining.

With a total of 40 seating capacity, PESCE will be serving dinner for a couple of nights before moving to its regular business hours from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m to offering full 3-course meals (soup/salad, entrée, and dessert) starting at PHP 2,800++ per person. Prior reservation is required. You may also choose to hold your private event at PESCE with the exclusive use of the South pool. Call +63 2 884 8074 / +63 918 884 8080 for more details or to reserve a table.
