Combating everyday pain with a long term solution

With Living Life Well Clinic’s Pain Management Program for CIGNA Global Healthcare members

People experience pain every day. It is a form of suffering or discomfort that is usually caused by genes, age, strenuous activity, poor posture, obesity, pregnancy, smoking and mental contributors like anxiety, depression and heart break. Pain is an issue that is important to address because it limits the capability of individuals and constrains them from doing more. Manifestations include stinging, burning sensation, soreness, stiffness, difficulty in breathing, etc.

Finding the root cause

The first step to cure pain is to determine its root cause – where is the pain coming from.

Not everyone may know but the usual primary cause of pain is rooted in your back – whether it is difficulty in sleeping, bad pain in your gums, struggle in turning your head or pulling pain from buttocks to legs. Back pain is one of the most common health issue that affects all age levels. It is so prevalent that it can strike to anyone, even those who have no risk factors at all.

Our Integrative Doctors

Our team of experts is trained specifically on a science-based, evidence-based and resultsdriven approach to attaining optimal health, which was vital in helping thousands of people succeed in their quest to live a healthier and balanced lifestyle through integrative medical services, preventive health care practices, and awareness on consuming nutritious foods in its purest form.

Dr. Rommel Tinio, The Farm’s Medical Director, has been in practice for 29 years, and specializes in Integrative Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Mind & Body Medicine/Stress Management, and Translational Medicine.

Medical Chief Dr. Marian Alonzo has been in practice for 17 years, and specializes in Integrative Medicine, Psycho-emotional Health through Autonomic Nervous System Balancing.

Dr. Radi Apostol, Dr. Sigfried Galang, and Dr. Michelle Carbonel all have a collective 57 years in practice, specializing in Integrative Medicine, Dermatology, and Cosmetic Surgery; Integrative Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Medical Acupuncture; Integrative Medicine, Holistic Consult, and Electro acupuncture, respectively.

Interestingly, another doctor [not in picture], Dr. Ferdinand Brawner, believed that the right food and discipline is what the patients came to The Farm for. One of the guiding principles of this holistic wellness destination, Hippocrates’ statement is an ideal that Ferdinand also follows to maintain his own health.

Finding a long-term solution

Most back pain goes away on its own, but it usually takes a while. Although resting can help, staying one or two days in bed can make it worse. It even affects the way you function and it decreases ones efficiency at home and work. Taking over-the-counter pain relievers can help for a little while, but prolonged medication may just add up to your body’s toxic state.

While conventional western therapies are available for the treatment of back pain, complementary therapies that do not use drugs or surgery have proven to be of equal benefit in providing pain relief.

At The Farm, first option is a non-surgical muscle pain treatment. The holistic medical wellness resort has a specialized team of rehabilitation medicine consultants,  certified medical acupuncturists, licensed physical therapists, nutritionists, and Yoga and fitness instructors. These group of people facilitates the assessment, preparation, procedure, training, home instructions, and follow-ups, to make sure that you are well taken care of.

This program embraces a holistic approach. The methodology is based from the fact that pain is not just of physical origin. It does a have a psycho-socio-emotional derivation. For chronic pain especially, it has deeper roots which can be accessed and cured through the mind.
