Many shop-bought granolas contain baked rolled oats, nuts and fruits that are coated in honey or syrup; not only are all the enzymes leached out of the ingredients through cooking, they are then laden with extra calor ies through the honey or sugar. The process of dehydration ensures that the nuts and fruits in The Farm’s granola maintain their enzyme levels, and the combination of only a little muscovado sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg gives extra flavor. The granola may be eaten on its own, or combined with yoghurt or The Farm’s special “milk” .
